New Flicka Owner Questions #advice #intro
wade.a.barrie@...
Hello everyone!
I recently purchased a Flicka 20 project in the Greater Vancouver area, a boat that spent its life on a lake in Kelowna BC and I have a couple of questions, some things that don't make sense to me and that I have not seen on other Flicka 20s. HIN PCS200110579 Question 1 - According to the HIN, it's a 1979 boat, this one has an enclosed head, I thought they didn't start doing that until 1984? Is this custom? It looks really well done if it is, but what I find weird is that the bulkhead for the head is right in the middle of the large aft portlight. Question 2 - I haven't seen any other boats with this tiller/rudder setup - any info would be appreciated. Question 3 - was an opening chain locker ever an option? Havent see this on other boats either. Thanks! |

Sure looks like some custom work to me including the head placement, rudder build and opening chain locker. Also, the ladder into cabin looks custom as well! Enjoy!

I have a 1979 hull but none of those very unique features. Quite interesting!

My Flicka #375 has enclosed head in same location but was built in '89. I am wondering if yours was maybe one of the owner builds from plans . . . Sandra Gleich "Claritas" Bald Head Island NC On Sun, Jul 31, 2022 at 7:23 PM Morgantheship <ragceg@...> wrote:

All the work I see was custom work. More than likely it was bought as a sail away kit boat. Meaning all exterior was done but bare hull inside. They may have asked for the headliner and interior teal overhead as the kit was totally custom for every order. I almost ordered one but went with the PSC 25. Bought the 1st at LongBeach boat show. red rust hull, tan bark sales. Bumped my head a hundred time with that boat!
