Rudder to tiller wood 'cheeks'
Hullo Matt, Pic and dimensions help a lot. Thanks! I need to have them roughed out by Monday (heading to boat) so might just go with what I have (W.Oak). I have some exotics on-hand but no Teak. Also

I'm not near boat at the moment, but realize I prob need to re-do tiller cheeks (is there a better name for them?). IIRC they look like oak. Does anyone know for certain? I have some white oak on-hand

Nick, Can you elaborate a little on 'light bleach'? Do you not use any oil at all? Our toerail was in Cetol but is now partially stripped. I've pondered continuing with Cetol, changing to Epiphanes, o

I like the idea of taller toerails. Did you find any places where it was an issue? IIRC it's a little tight under 'sprit platforms. Also, how did you handle the transom (complex curve). Even with 3/4-

Best location for VHF marine radio and coax wiring
We have a fixed VHF/AIS/GPS unit (12v of course). I also generally wear my PFD or at least have it near me in cockpit at all times and in on of it's pockets I keep a handheld VHF with GPS (but no AIS.

One data point on jibs: if you are cruising then a big (heavy) Genoa makes sense. But I’ve found that big (often baggy or fuller cut) genoas are poor when beating windward and once reefed the center o

Best Furler for Inner Forestay
#advice
I have not done it but I have considered it and last summer discussed with our local sailmaker (who is excellent!). There are very small code-zero (?) furlers that can be used without a real forestay.
