Re: Rebooting the 101MP
I know it sound dumb but make sure the VFO is not set to an OUT OF BAND frequency. This will cause the TX light to flash red as you indicated.

Re: Rebooting the 101MP
I have a 101D and that happened to me as well. TX blinking and couldn’t transmit. I was within the ham band.
I also had the 101 lock up on me at other times. Pressed everything in sight and nothing

Re: Insertion loss of amps and scopes
Barry,
Thanks for the post.
The issue here is calibration - an accurate (true) measurement of the parameters of interest.
Neither the FTDX101 nor the MNFJ 989D have been calibrated for your experiment

Actually, I have a K4 on order, and will sell the FTdx-101MP if it ever shows up. Meanwhile, the primary radio remains the K3.

Re: Insertion loss of amps and scopes
Yes, but the 20% loss would not be detected by the rx station, so not worth the bother.

Insertion loss of amps and scopes
I normally use my FTDX101D with a Heathkit SB220 amp. I also have two scopes, a Kenwood SM220 and a Heathkit SB610. Because Field Day rules say a 1D station cannot use more than 150 watts, I shut off

BS + MS + $2.98 = COFFEE
Real Life Experience = Priceless, says the man who set his back yard on fire with a breadboard tuner loading a 160 meter inverted L with 1000 watts.

I could be dead long before a K4 would bedelivered. Elecraft clearly 'overhung the market' on this rig.

I agree 100% with Don. When my FT-1000D went belly-up during Museum Ships Weekend, I broke out my K2 "backup radio" and used it. The K2 is a good little radio, but nothing like the 1000D.
