Re: com0com

I deleted files for com0 in regedit and reinstalled. Looked in device manager and it was good to go this time.
Rebooted pc, back to same old no certificate. Must be something on pc that's doing this.

Tried setting com0com on another pc (laptop). Works fine.
So something in my desk top won't let it sign in.. Will check things out.
Thanks for the help Gary.

Well, the only thing left is to try what's in this Readme file regarding driver signing.  It addresses that issue, though it does refer to the unsigned version.  Can't hurt.

Uninstalled software and rebooted. No luck.
here is the file I opened and loaded. (com0com-3.0.0.0-i386-and-x64-signed.zip)

Stan,
Just bought 101D which is waiting at the QTH; am on foreign work assignment until mid August so chomping at the bit to get ahold of the rig. I have seen previous posts from guys using the RSPdx, which I have with my K2/100. I was puzzled by guys using the RX out port vs the IF out port as my K2/100 does. Your post is the first showing either is ok. What are the pro/cons of using RX out vs IF out with RSPdx?
I note you use SDRUNO whereas the K2 crowd recommends the HDSDR software which is touted by G4ZFQ? What are your impressions of these two different softwares?
Tnx for taking the time to respond....

Or use VSPE http://www.eterlogic.com/Products.VSPE.html  is realy fast and easy to create virtuals com ports ( but not is done) and cheap for registred version. It work perfectely since more than 1 year here without defect. F6IRA

No on the Yaesu.  I'm tied up tonight.  Will get back to you tomorrow.  It's hot to be admin rights.

Re: com0com

It's more than version 3.  There are two version 3s listed on that page.  You need the signed one and again, don't try to install it from the zip file.

Let's assume you did all that and you still get the message.  Uninstall and reboot.  Go to the signed install file you extracted, right click, then left click on "run as administrator".  See if that solves it.

Re: com0com

Don -

You inadvertently used the unsigned version which won't work in Win64.
Go to this page:
Extract the file from the zip archive.

Uninstall the existing version.  Reboot.  Install the new signed file.  When you change the name from a virtual to a "real" name port, use numbers in the teens, i.e., 16 and up.  That keeps you away from any com port conflicts.  Windows remembers all the ports it creates even if they don't show up.

I agree with Phil, W8UV re: VA2FSQ and technical support.  Tom, VA2FSQ has always provided me with excellent support from my K3 days until now (FTDX101D).

I contacted WIN4Yaesu developer Tom, VA2FSQ and he Used TeamViewer to look at my computer and determined Com0Com was not allowing a Com8 even though it was set up correct.

He Moved to a different com12 I had done that but I made setup errors in both WSJT-X and Win4Yaesu once he corrected these it worked great. I operated as K2E on 15m FT8 with out

a problem.

Tom truly supports his software.

I recommend the Win4Yaesu as a great software control of the FTdx101MP.

Using AnyDesk I operate my FTdx101MP remote.

I took a look at the documentation for Win4Yaesu.  Assuming you are using a separate com0com port for FT8 and have Win4Yaesu set to do that, it should work.  This program is well supported.  I'd suggest contacting them is no one else has a solution.

Windows will not allow two programs to use the same COM port at the same time.  You can do a couple of things.  To do it in software you need virtual com port software.  I use com0com and hub4com.  If WSJT and Win4Yaesu can use OmniRig, that's a simpler way to implement virtual com ports.  The hardware solution is to connect the 101's rs232 port to the computer.  It will show up as a different com port number.  Assign that to WSJT.  If you use an external tuner, however, the rs232 port is disabled, so you can only use a software solution.  In software I have the rig talking to the logging program, FLDigi, OmniRig and a CAT controller simultaneously.

FAST MID and SLOW AGC recovery times are settable per mode in the menus. AUTO AGC simply uses the SLOW recovery time you set for SSB.  AUTO uses the SLOW you set for AM.  In CW, AUTO uses the FAST recovery time you set in the the menu.  In each mode, you can still selected the others and each can be set for each mode.  AUTO does nothing else.

Hello, I bought the program! You don't need it for a back up. It helps to program all the memories and configure all the parameters on each tape individually. Who wants to save and program a lot can buy it. Otherwise you can save it. It is a good tool and who buys such an expensive transceiver can probably afford it. 73 Michael DM4YY

Re: YPS-DX101D programmer for an FTDX101D

Agree. Setting up the rig on the rig is fairly straightforward.  Also agree that going through each menu and menu item and referencing the manual (and asking here when necessary) to understand them is key.  Certainly some may not be pertinent to your current situation, but just having a general idea of what's there is good.

Re: YPS-DX101D programmer for an FTDX101D

I took a look at this software.  As a memory manager, it would be a terrific tool.  That said, there is nothing difficult about setting the memories in the radio.  And it does store your complete setup, so I can't see where the software is adding any functionality.  Before you set a contour control or any other control, you need to understand what it does.  That software doesn't help.  Personally, I wouldn't waste my money on it.  Spending time exploring every button and function will pay huge dividends.  Use the manual as a reference guide when you run into trouble.  Save your settings to an SD card.

I am considering buying the YPS-DX101D programming software for a new FTDX101D. I assume it’s easier to set up the rig via this package than directly on the rig. Anyone using it? Any issues or software bugs? Any issues with transceiver compatibility?

Thanks,

If you’re a serious contestor, the FTDX101 is the best choice. I do suggest that you never use the “auto” setting for agc.
