Right, Lou. Exactly what I've got. That's my problem.
My SD directory:

Both.  Swinging needle for avg, and indicator that refreshes for peaks.

Re: Main SDR update failure #update

There needs to be a FTX101 directory in the root of your SD card and the update files must be in that directory.

FTDX101
  FTDX101_AFDSP_V0100.SFL
  FTDX101_DISPLAY_V0108.SFL
  FTDX101_IFDSP_V0107.SFL
  FTDX101_MAIN_V0122.SFL
  FTDX101_SDR_V0206.SFL

Kill DC; power on; back where we started.
So I'm pretty sure I have followed everything to the letter.

I'm starting to regret having sold my FT-950. HELP!

Ken,
Thanks for that posting.  Just to be clear are those the actual page numbers? When I tell it to print a spedific page the count is off by 2. I am guessing the cover and another page are the culprits. Many thanks

Yes, and then prevaricated about whose fault it was.  That is what annoyed me more than anything.  Well, the main thing is that they finally realized that the problem was of their own making and fixed it!  I love the radio, but its reputation is suffering because of episodes like this.

Kinda funny how grateful and appreciative everybody now is of Yaesu after fixing the RS232.  Much more so than they would be if Yaesu hadn't broken it in the first place.

Hi Lou,
Yes the changes to the manual were minor compared to the change in the RS232!  ☺

Re: PO meter AVG or PEP #poll-notice

Lou W7HV

I clicked 4, but really I want both displayed at the same time like on my much older rigs. Instead of faux analog needles, I want a linear bargraph with the rightmost dot of the bargraph hanging at PEP while the rest of the bargraph shows average...like on my much older rigs.  This would also leave more room for a numeric filter WIDTH display and other information of value, like SHIFT, DNR level, etc...

did you format the sd card using the radio?

Can you add one more option?

Both (switchable by settings. Or even both using both smeters)

Thanks

Subject: [FTDX101D] PO meter AVG or PEP #poll-notice

A new poll has been created:

The PO Meter on the FTDX101 - how would you like it to read when transmitting SSB?

1. AVG as it does now, with 100w PO set on the rig the meter shows around 50 to 70w on peaks.
2. PEP with 100w PO set on the rig the meter shows 100w on peaks.
3. Don't care

Successful new software upload

I've not bothered with the last 2 versions because of the negative comments. However I  did upload this new one and can report it was 100% successful  and no requirement to do a reset after. (FTDX101D)

Main SDR update failure #update

Paul - W1PR

I delayed attempting to update the firmware for my '101D after reading about problems with it, until the 5/14 version went on line and the comments indicated that it addressed problems with earlier iterations. Except for me. I followed downloading and unzipping directions and went through the routine of installing. But, strangely, I get an error message that MAIN SDR v02-06 fails to install, while SUB SDR v02-06 finishes successfully. Then an error message shows up, informing me that an update error occurred, and "the system will reboot - OK? - DON"T TURN OFF YOUR RADIO." "OK" is in a box that looks like it wants to be clicked or pressed. But nothing happens.  The radio doesn't reboot, instead it freezes. No response to touching or clicking on OK. No response to anything, including the power button. After waiting several minutes for the freeze to melt, I took a deep breath and killed the 12 v DC power. Then with power restored the radio boots up and plays normally, I think. The "soft" menu indicates that I'm running MAIN SDR v02-03, but SUB SDR is v02-06. I've downloaded the new FW again and attempted update again but get the same outcome.
Why would the SUB update normally but not the MAIN? Is there a remedy?
If this has already been addressed, please excuse me. I looked through the group's messages but couldn't find it.

Re: Operation Manual differences

The correct pages are: 22, 70, 82, 101, 111, and the back cover.

Re: Operation Manual differences

Ken - K4XL

Oops.  Report is in error.  I'll have the correct page numbers momentarily.

Operation Manual differences

Ken - K4XL

The following pages are the only ones changed in the new (2102P-JS-3) Operation manual from the old (2102P-JS-2).  So, if you maintain a current printed copy, these are the pages you need to print: 24, 72, 84, 103, 113 and 126.  The last one is just the back cover.

This was the first update I have done in a year.  My radio kept all of my settings and was not reset to factory default.

I had not done the update when it appeared originally since the problem with the RS232 port was reported. I use the RS232 with Ham Radio Deluxe. In fact I have never done an update since my 101 is only a month or so old. I noted on the instructions it says to format the card, I had already done that and saved the setting   Is it required to format again? As in the past when installing updates to my old 5K it reset the options to default. I would guess this happens again? I do have the settings saved on the SD and also marked on a print out.
