My 101MP has this problem. It's AGC related. With a moderate strength signal (on AGC threshold) try switching AGC off and swing the RF gain up and down. On my set the gain swings smoothly with no trace of the "dirty pot" effect. Switch in the AGC and it's there. It seems like the AGC system is playing catch up with the system gain.

Or is there a problem with the tuner?
I've noticed this on my 101D as well. It doesn't seem to remember anything about the previous tunes that it's done, on the same antenna and frequency range, even though it gets the SWR below 2:1.

push tuner button and hold down fo 3 seconds it will  beep 3 times take finger off let tuner tune when done it will stop and red light will be on .If your antenna is more than 3 to 1 swr it will not tune the tune range is limited to 3 to 1

Hi,
The auto tuner it's for make 50ohm image to your final unit view.
If you use the SteppIR who send this 50ohm information to transceiver, your auto tuner don't have to make something. 50ohm view is correct for it.

What is your previous transceiver and what do you don't understand on antenna line ?

Page 57 on the US manual states the ATU only remembers tunes that are below 2:1, and for each 10kHz segment.  If the load is greater than 2:1, then you must tune again.  I haven't exhaustively tested this, but that does to be how it works. When switching between memorized tunes, there's very little fuss as only the few necessary relays simultaneously click, unlike the 10 second cacophony that goes on when it's searching for a new tune.

I bought Yaesu FTdx101D 14 months ago. I like it so much I bought an FTdx101MP about a month ago.


I tested the MP for overshot on the first CW character.  I used a Tektronix TDS2012B oscilloscope. The radio is connected to a dummy load. I put a T connector in the cable so I could capture the signal on the scope.


I took four pictures on my cell phone and posted the pictures to QSL net. The trace show no overshoot.

I can send you overshoot release document information, but you need, if your transceiver is in the serial number list from YAESU information, like Sylvain send it up, and if you don't make the last update, make the specific update with overshoot release.

I think the problem is that after all this time and several firmware updates we are still going crazy to find a wireless mouse compatible with the radio.
A keyboard connected to the radio that connot be use for digital mode.

Jamie, my radio has only the first FW update so maybe they improved the USB hot swap function.
The mouse you used came with a small device that plugged into a USB port that allowed the mouse to communicate with the radio, how does that communication take place? Thought control, visual control, 40 M SSB control or some radio link like blue tooth?

I found that it was necessary to install the USB Bluetooth adapter when the radio was powered down.

The adaptor would then be discovered on power up, and the mouse would work fine.

Hi,
same group for D & MP model.
This overshoot problem was reported back in June 2019 and at that time some radios were sent back to Yaesu CA and UK for a modification, also a software review later.
Some doubts to contact Yaesu's support line with his serial number,,,
