Re: Best Tube Tuner?
Someone told me the Knight KN-125 was their favorite tube tuner, and this person had worked on many tuners. Avoid it, even for free.

Re: Funding the FM Tuners Group
I'm in as well - would like to send a check, if possible, but not a stopper by any means. Let us know. Thanks for all your work for the group in this regard.

Re: harman kardon citation 18 - "in tune" light not working
hi herb,
thanks. so, on the bad tuna, when the station is in tune, the max reading i get on the far leg of r23 from vr1 is 1.12v; and that's when vr1 is at its max position; when there's no station

Re: Funding the FM Tuners Group
Hi Bob,
I would be more comfortable sending you a personal check for $10, and for you to cover the annual cost on our collective behalf. To do so, I just need your name, mailing address and telephone

Bob - I would rather mail you a $10 bill. Just e-mail your mailing address and I'll drop in mail.
Thanks.

Re: Best Tube Tuner?
I've been blessed to own several of these. I deal only with strong-signal local stations.
1. Scott 310E
2. McIntosh MR 71; a little bit more toward the back of the concert hall than the Scott but

Doug,
A few thoughts based upon your observations.
1 . Given your comment re the burnt resistor, I would replace both Q9 and Q10. Make sure you get a MPS-A13 not a sub. There are significant hfe (

Re: Funding the FM Tuners Group
I for one am OK using a Credit Card to donate; I don't want the administration of funds to turn into a big hassle for Bob. We are all grateful for all he does already.

Re: Funding the FM Tuners Group
I’d be willing to be one of the 9 people, but is it possible to set up an account using a prepaid debit card to avoid any one person using their own credit card?

Re: Funding the FM Tuners Group
Path of least resistance sounds like an appropriatesolution, group leadership has enough to do otherwise.
Just let us know how to and where. I'm good for one month of whatever theannual ticket comes

Re: Best Tube Tuner?
Good tube tuners that I have owned include:
Scott LT110 - decent sound, decent reception, nothing earth-shattering.
Fisher KM60 - as above
Dynaco FM3 - best sound by far. Not a DX machine, however.
