Files Needed!
Constantine Christophi
Hi all, I've managed to get the AC88 WinNC to run on the PC, but I believe I need different folders. The folders supplied are Fan0.m, and Mill50. If you have them, please can you upload:
Fan0.t Mill100 Turn120? I would really appreciate it, I feel like I'm getting really close to getting my Mill 100 and Turn 120 up and running. On the Turn, WinNC boots up and immediately alarms out with x/y/z axis not ready, but on the Mill it has a different alarm, so I think it's looking for the above folders.

I wish FANUC made a software that would work with my home made controller .I have worked on FANUC machines for many years and like there controls and interface . I have retro fitted a DYNA MYTE DM3000 and it uses Mach4 . Mach4 sucks .I am very jealous of you guys that get to use the OM interface to run your machines .

Hi Michel!
So I am using the AC88 software from this group, there is no installation, it's just drag and drop so it only has Mill50 and Fan0.m folders with it. I also have a 5 floppy set up from this group, I believe it is AC95 so may not even work with my machine, but the first disk gives me a licence error and quits without even asking for the MSD. I'm using disk images on a USB flashfloppy emulator. With the AC88 from the downloads section, it boots into Fanuc and immediately alarms out, maybe because it's expecting a Mill 50! I still need to figure out how to use Wincfg to set up the machine too. I am running Win 98 SE on the original PC. Arjan, thanks, that seems to be siemens setup though, I'm looking for Fanuc. G d, I agree, I'm much more familiar with Fanuc. It's the reason why I want to have both these machines running on original controls rather than a Centroid retrofit.

I wish I went with a Centroid retro fit .I'm using a cnc4pc M16 and a Pokeys 57e so they both have their own software that has to work Mach its a big circle of who's problem is it .Machine runs and the tool chager works but not as well as I would like .

Hello,
do you have a floppy or anything else with the machine data on it? Win98 SE is perfect because it is the latest Windows operating system, which can run the WinNC software =)

Hi Michel
I have the MSD for the Turn 120 from Emco, they are in the process of getting me the MSD for the Mill 100. I used the "SUPERVISOR" password in Wincfg though and it appears I might be able to create my own MSD from there? Thanks Conners

This is great! Maybe, if you did not have done it already, it is worth to have a look into the control box at the backside of the machines. It is very common to store the floppy disk with the MSD on it there.
Regarding the Wincfg: this is the place where you can change you machine parameters but you need to have the MSD to change them. So you are not able to create them with Wincfg.

Hi Michel
The machine is running! I can use almost all the functions now. The only thing that doesn't seem to operate is the tool changer. I have tried M6;Tx, just Tx, the display changes but the tool does not rotate. The manual I have does not have M code for tool changes. Thanks!

Yeah! Sounds great!
That is the point where the Wincfg gets interesting. Just start the "WinConfig for WinNC32 MaL". Then click on the gear. If you only installed the software for your lathe it automatically opens the machine data of your lathe. Otherwise you have to choose it over the menus. Now you go to the point "activate accessories". This point is accessible without a password. Then just tick the point "Tool turret". You need to make shure that WinConfig is thinking that you have a floppy drive with the machine data floppy in it. Otherwise it is not possible to save the changes in that easy way. Hope for the best!

I think the problem is mechanical. If I take the tool turret off, I can see it turning in reverse and I get a "6040 Tool Turret Index Failure". If I put it on (even loosely), it indexes and then no tool changes.

michel@...
Okay. If I am getting you right: The tool turret does find it index position. If you try to change the tool now nothing happens (even no alarm messages occurs) but the tool number in the display does change?
I had various problems with tool changers. Most of the problems had to do with the position sensors. You can open the cover on the right side of the tool turret (where the cables come out). Underneath is the tool turret controller. On this controller are 4 photoelectric barriers. Maybe there is some dirt in between or one of them has a malfunction. It is recommandable to dismount it, clean it up and have another check. It would be helpfull if you could send me your machine data. I also had a failure where the wrong tool turret was choosen.

I've checked the optical sensors, it's all very clean but I cleaned it again anyway. I need to remove it properly and meter the sensors but I don't have time to do that until next week. I do get a sensor error with the sensors removed so it's possible the sensors are working? I'll email you the MSD.
