I've got one of those, and as Henk says, it has a slot rather than the round aperture the EMCO needs. IF you were only trying to rear one set of pulses from a perforated disc, it would work fine. The

I managed to get my light barrier working. In the end, I got a part from Rapid Electronics - http://www.rapidonline.com/sku/Electronic-Components/Optoelectronics/Photodetectors/Transistor-Darlington-p

Light barrier parts.
I'm looking for some parts that make up the light barrier (EMCO part number A6A 108 001 or ZME 200 275). This is the opto-switch that reads the perforated disc on the main spindle. Mine was ruined by

Contactor relay wiring
Does anyone have a sketch that shows how the contactor relay is wired onto the power supply board? I went to re-install my repaired power supply board, and found all the wires I had labelled have had

Hi Rick I looked at that board, but as the lathe was free and only used for my own small projects, I couldn't justify spending the money. Actually the guy that sells those boards indirectly encouraged

Compact 5 CNC to Mach3 conversion
Hi Henk Thanks for the information, that'll save me some time. Basically, yes, I'm building a board that's functionally equivalent to the $600 one. I got the lathe years ago for free from the college

This is what I am working on now for my lathe. I don't think the interface board for EMC in the link will work with Mach3. The website says "EMC will actually output two pairs of control signals (AX/B
