I have a FT-2000D sitting next to my Orion II and a
K3 on order. While the FT-2000D does not have quite the same strong signal
handling capabilities as the Orion II, it is a fine radio in many respects and I
would not call it "junk". I have no intention of selling it. I have also had a
chance to use a K3 twice and while I was impressed enough to order one, I'm
keeping the Orion II. No, I didn't use the K3 enough to make anything
other than very subjective initial comparisons with the Orion.
