[Elecraft] my K3 has some issues-NOT SOLVED- LowPower Amp MOSFETs
I just checked my K3S (using a solid state switching supply), and in receive the voltage on the meter shows 14.3 V (1.4 A), at 70W, 13.9V 18A), and at 100W 13.7V (21A) Not sure if that is a big issue

Shipping a KPA500 to factory.
I agree; for a high value item that is heavy, I use the UPS store or FedEx. I think when you use one of these, any damage claims are honored. Had a couple issues with my KPA1500 way back, and found it

K3s no power on TX
I would venture to say that no power out (especially in the 1 - 12 watt range indicated the failure of both MOSFETs (about half power indicates failure of one of them). I have had that happen twice no

[Elecraft] KPA1500 vs SPE Amps
Bill, I use the KPA1500 on RTTY; and yes, it will run 1500 watts on RTTY. BUT, it is not rated for continuous duty (like my previous Alpha 9500). It is ICAS rated with the following limitations: 100%

KPA1500 problem
You might try grounding the key in jack on the back of the amp and see if the problem goes away. If so, the problem is not in the amp. Dick, K8ZTT

Ed, The 8 pins within the connector are tight; the part with some "play" is just the ring with the threads on it. Dick, K8ZTT

Besides using a quality dummy load, make sure the coax cable you are using between the dummy load and the radio is good (I speak with experience). Dick, K8ZTT
