Here is some data I have at both 100 watts and 30 or 35 watts for six rigs. Different lab, different measuring equipment, different rig samples, so don’t expect absolute correlation with ARRL data. AR

Old synthesizers from K3 upgrade
I suppose they could be operated outside the K3, but I have no idea how. The phase noise of the old synths are not that good. You would be better off with an SI570 if you want to build something. It d

Old synthesizers from K3 upgrade
Are you asking how to measure the phase noise and AM noise (total composite noise) of the old synths? They could be reinstalled and then measure RMDR on receive with a very clean crystal oscillator, o

K3 vs K3s sensitivity and noise comparison
The noise floor of the K3 without the preamp has improved from the original value as seen from the 2008 data on my website. Now preamp 1 on a K3S has only a modest noise floor reduction. Preamp 2 in a

No I don’t know about the angle on 6m. On 6m any antenna would have lots of lobes due to height above ground in wavelengths. Rob, NC0B

6M Es antenna question
Directivity is always your friend, often even more so than gain. A yagi with a clean pattern reduces noise, QRM and QRN. A 4 or 5 element yagi on 6m would be much more useful than stacking and phasing

The 76 dB value for one of the 7610s on my website was with IP+ OFF (dither and random OFF). Sample variation with the Icom radios is less with IP+ ON. The same is likely true of Apache products. Sinc

LPA3 Failures.
If you had the 10 watt K3 / K3S, the operator could easily decide to run it at 12 watts. Yes the IMD is bad at 10 to 12 watts, but on CW it wouldn’t matter. On SSB would the operator choose to give up
