Rick - I am using my K3 with DXLAB... when I click on a spot the rig goes to the correct freq (including split if appropriate), and mode - SSB or CW... I don't do any data modes, so I don't know about

That depends on how broad the antenna is. I do not have a '500, but a good friend says his gets pretty unhappy when the SWR gets up to 2:0 or higher. -Dave- K9FN
