There are, I'm pretty sure, free tools to do just that on Linux. "socat" looks like it might do it.
That said, I've written a server that puts a bunch of serial and USB-serial devices in my shack onto

Suggestion
Yeah, we all know the K3 is dead but there are a lot out there. Has anyone thought of translating the CAT commands from a serial interface to IP? Seems like it would be fairly easy with a Pi.

Re: No green LED KSYN3A
My advice......for what it is worth. I strongly object to the use of any DC power distribution for any transceiver. This is regardless of the brand, type or rating of the DC power strip.

Re: No green LED KSYN3A
Unfortunately it hasn’t. I sense a timing issue during start-up.

Re: No green LED KSYN3A
Your reseating the boards and connectors may have cleared the ‘deafness’ as well. Time will tell.
Stay safe and well!!

Re: No green LED KSYN3A
Thanks Mike.
It is saying 13.8V on VFO-B and from an Astron. Drops a bit on TX owing to a Powerpole plugboard, but I’m not going onto TX for this issue to show.

Re: No green LED KSYN3A
Hi Colin,
Glad to hear you’ve had some success with this issue.
One more easy thing to check: what input VDC value does the K3 report?
I had some other issues related to my power supply and DC

Re: No green LED KSYN3A
Thanks Mike.
I have now swapped the two boards over, and then with one from another k3 and the fault has disappeared with it.
The next most obvious step is to look at the other voltage

Re: No green LED KSYN3A
Reseating all the TMP connectors might be worth trying.
I had some odd behavior in my K3 that this corrected.

No green LED KSYN3A
My K3 SN 8801 sub RX is not functioning and I have tracked it down to no LO input from one of the KSYN3A boards.
Its regulator is giving 5V but the green LED is not showing. The same LED is bright

Re: Audio issue - loud speaker?
John and Bob,
many thanks for both.
I will set the AF LIM to 20 and I will have to check it using external speaker.
Also I will have to find which IC is used in the speaker amp chain for final

Re: Audio issue - loud speaker?
Petr,
Does the same problem occur with headphones?
If not it is the loudspeaker amplifier chain.
Try an external speaker plugged into the back 3.5mm stereo SPKRS jack. If the problem still occurs

Re: Audio issue - loud speaker?
Are you saying the K3 does not have enough audio power to drive the kenwood speaker and thus requires additional amplification?
This seems like a formula for issues to arise. Of course if it works

Re: Audio issue - loud speaker?
Been awhile but seems like that is mainly for when agc is turned off?
My k3 goes into a bhi speaker which I believe amplifies the signal before reaching my kenwood speaker.
