The USA service center is very efficient Repaired unit in less then a week after receiving it.

My K3S repair also took 4-5 weeks but I sent it in a week or two before Christmas so I was expecting a long turnaround. Not a problem since I have a TS-590S as a backup rig.

My K3s arrived at Elecraft Repair on Feb 6.   This is what they sent me

Your RSA has arrived at Elecraft. Typical turn-around time for radio repairs is 10-15 working days. 

If your repair is a K3 or K3S, it may take up to 20 working days depending on the repairs or upgrades.

Sales will contact you when your radio/equipment repair is completed and is ready to be shipped home.

02/04/2020 - Received "It's fixed" email from the tech.

So 19 days from ship to "fixed".  Figure an average 5- 7 days return shipping.
And estimated 24-26 days round trip.
I had them purposely delay return so I could add small parts/hardware/fasteners to the order.

However, EVERY situation is different.  Depends on 1) # of units in the repair queue, 2) what's wrong with it, etc, etc.

Bottom line - I am very happy with the service I have received on BOTH trips my K3s has made back to Watsonville.
If you REALLY want to cut time off the round-trip, the best place to cut is in shipping time....  Throw enough money at it, and you could cut time TO and time FROM from 5-7 days to 1-2 or 3 days...

But IMO, be SURE, regardless of shipping method to FULLY INSURE the REPLACEMENT value of the shipment TO Elecraft for sure, since loss or damage en route to CA is between you and the courier.
