Re: KPA1500 problem
You might try grounding the key in jack on the back of the amp and see if the problem goes away. If so, the problem is not in the amp.

KPA1500 problem
Good morning all.
All of a sudden, my KPA1500 is showing a fault: RF IN, NO KEY IN
If I drive the amp with 10w, it works nicely. 10w 450w out. When I drive the amp with 15-20w it immediately defaults

Thanks for your response. Doug from Elecraft contacted me and informed me that the heat sinks are where I was describing the heat source. How did you know I was old enough to remember Valves.

Hi Mark.
Sorry I misunderstood. Yes, I was talking about the internal transverter, although I’d assumed that they were both the same in operation.

Re: KPA1500 Macro help. PF combination for FAN Speed.
Yes, Jim. Thanks. Tho I was already aware of that.
Let's see, in the original posting and original question, am looking for a command that can be used in just PF1, that will toggle between ^FC2

Re: KPA1500 Macro help. PF combination for FAN Speed.
Mark,
The commands were as in the original email:
Yes, both PF1 and PF2 can be used for this purpose, PF1 set ^FC2; and PF2 set to ^FC0.
I assume the screenshot from the KPA1500 Utility

Re: Heat
To the right side are mounted the voltage regulators developing some heat. So hot right side is normal.

Re: Heat
I have sn4290 and it gets slightly warm on the right side but not hot.
Does it get as warm as the tube gear used to get, if you remember
that?

Heat
I am fairly new to the K3. Got unit back from repair and update. Have not transmitted with it yet. Unit seems to get hot on the right side. Is this common or do I have a problem

Re: KPA1500 Macro help. PF combination for FAN Speed.
I have done that with PF1 and PF2 but I prefer the KPA1500 remote program, which allows you to set a minimum fan speed with a slider:
Yes, this is 6M FT8, though I’d prefer to be on 6M CW,

2m Transverter
I am interested in adding a 2m transverter to my K3. I would like to use it with other transceivers (Flex 6700, Apache Labs 7000DLE, Icom 7610). The Elecraft transverter only covers 144 - 146, but I

I agree with Rick. The cutouts I encounter as almost totally the result of a slow internet connection. It is most noticeable on CW and will make you sound like a LID! That said, RFI can do the same
