Re: KPA1500 still no CE-Certification
Is CE certification a requirement only for shipping KPA1500 outside US? I ordered my KPA1500 in Sept and it was shipped next day.

KPA1500 still no CE-Certification
hi folks,
I'm desperately disappointed about the handling of my order of this amp. I'm a convinced Elecraft user since the K2 hit the market. Had/have different K3/K3s, P3, KPA500, KAT500, modules

Re: K3 filter installation wanted; central NJ
Hi Scott,
I think you can do it yourself. There is no soldering. You just need a phillips screw driver. then follow the config instructions. The easy way to config is with the K3 Utility Program.

I have two K3 1 kHz filters I'd like to have installed in my K3. Although I have done a lot of this sort of thing in the past, my fear of "messing up" is greater than the pride of "DIY".

Michael,
There are curves of the filter response on the Elecraft website - but
with the new website, I cannot give you a link, things have changed.

The cutoff would be higher than 2.7kHz. What you add to the high frequency end is subtracted from the low end.
The high end is normally about 3kHz which means the low end of the roofing filter is at

The rule for a balanced sound is that the product of the lowest and highest frequency should be between 450,000 and 500,000. So for a 2.7 KHz cutoff that means a low cut of 166 to 185 Hertz, or

Re: [Elecraft] K3s SSB transmitting bandwidth?
Michael,
I think the rolloff is not much (in support of those who want ESSB operation. Much of the rolloff depends on your microphone.
Jim Brown K9YC has long advocated reducing the TX EQ below 500
