There may be a typo in paragraph 1, sentence 2 below.
Add other poor transmitted phase noise rigs:
FTdx-3000 (Wipes out 15 meters in Boulder, CO, for example, when an FT-1000MP does NOT.)
FT-891

. . . or, even better (smaller & cheaper) consider using a K2/100.
I've traveled for DX contests - and over the years have hauled lots of different radios, i.e. Collins S-3 Line; FT-1000MP; K2/100,

Has anyone ever made the key line interrupt option using the KAT500 utility sticky? If I click the box, everytime I turn off the KAT500 is disables the option.

Re: KX3 / KXPA100 Combination for Contest Dxpediions
Jeff,
Why not a K3/100 instead of the KX3 and amp? Less wiring on the desk, no issues with keying an amp, and you can find them used for around $1700.

Does anyone have a KXV3 or KXV3A after upgrade for sale? I'm looking to eventually purchase a P3, so I need this module, willing to pay shipping.

Elecraft have agreed to make the change for a future release, such thatthe SWR indicator starts to react around 3W forward power.
What a great responsive company!

In version 2.0, the front panel SWR display no longer works in standbymode unless the forward power is at least 25 watts (aprox). Fortunatelythe remote control program still displays it all the way

Re: KPA1500 Version 2.o
Have you tried the traditional energetic pressure release mechanism (at least for the op) otherwise known as a slap?
Sorry for your amp, the timing sucks since 160M is actually 'open'
