Mike, you've probably checked all these settings (below), but just in case one slipped by :
.. Ensure your power setting is set to 100w on each band.

Re: Switching Power Supply for K3s and P3
I'm using the MFJ-4230MVP with good success. No RFI issues. Better efficiency and voltage regulation than my 30A Astron linear supply. The fan is temp controlled - never heard it run at high speed.

This is Paul, k1sec and I have a k3 and have been thinking about getting the PK-232.
I would like to have the tried and tested wiring and setting scheme for the k3/PK-232.
Thanks and 73

I have yet to hear my powerwerx fans come on. Maybe they have, but one is under the desk on top of a battery backup and the other is on a shelve about three feet away from my right ear when I’m

Re: Switching Power Supply for K3s and P3
The Powerwerx output is set to 14.1VDC which is what Elecraft recommends. I use an Astron SS30M set to 14.1 that runs my K3. I found the supply used at a hamfest for $75.

The one I have is on all the time. Without looking in the shop I think mine is a 50 amp version. They can be paralelled too. They are a nice PS but mine is rather noisy. Your’s may be less then

I’ve got one of those, it’s the higher wattage model. The fan runs fast and noisy, plus it has such a tiny terminal board, so I have as a just in case PS. Otherwise it seems to be well

Friends,
You will find endless arguments about which supplies are quiet and aren't, and nearly all are anecdotal. The reason the stories don't agree, for the most part, is because:
