I've done a quick and dirty change on my website, just to display the 2m linear, so you can see what is also possible with Front Panel Design. The fixings to hold the panels together were 'stolen' from Elecraft (back on topic) but they do know about it and I'm not in competition! :-) The blocks are available from Funkamateur via their sshop: https://www.box73.de/product_info.php?products_id=3517 also in Germany. They call them 'Gewindeblock M3' and they only accept M3 screws. My entire website is under development, so it's a bit 'messy'. :-D Here's the link to the 'linear' pics: http://www.g4gnx.com/scripts/rigs.htm Another place to look is on Jim Klitzing's site (W6PQL) who also uses FPD. 73, Alan. SPKRS 2 SPKR+PH YES SUB AF BALANCE If balance works backwards then turn around the headset. There can also be a problem in the headset connection or lead. Maybe there's a short somewhere. RF GAIN not working, no idea, never encountered that one. One thing to check, do you see the s-meter going up when turning de RF gain? 73 Arie PA3A Op 22-4-2020 om 19:36 schreef kamelden:

AUDIO Control of MAIN AND SUB
kamelden
HI
Sorry for half message I have setup MAIN and SUB for separate control for 8 years plus. I want to turn up SUB RF and AUDIO as needed on SPLIT (pileups, mainly). Suddenly this morning, I cannot control the RF Gain and the Audio output from MAIN and SUB separately. They are joined. Latest FW on all subsections. CONFIG settings: SPKRS 1 SPKR+PH 1 SUB AF nor It is now only allowing what looks like CONFIG SUB AF BALANCE settings. It is like BALANCE except the SUB mixing is BACKWARDS and RF GAIN on MAIN and SUB no longer work. Have saved config and factory reset (I know this will seed bad settings BACK into K3). Confusing. thanks for any help 73 Kurt K1SEA

Cable trays like those are available in the UK from most electrical wholesalers. Front panel design is administered for Europe (inc. UK) by Schaeffer in Germany: http://www.schaeffer-ag.de and their service is excellent, if perhaps a bit expensive for one-offs. Front Panel Design does take some getting used to, but once you learn how to use it, it's very powerful and accurate. and you can submit your design direct to Schaeffer. I designed a new case for my 2 metre linear and submitted it to them. It was made and shipped in about 2 weeks. I'm just about to put photos of the linear on my website. I'll let you know when they're available to view. I presume we still can't submit images to this forum? 73, Alan. G4GNX

It’s very neat and professional. Mind you, it seems to me, that lots of cool stuff is not available from UK suppliers :-( 73 de David, M0XDF This story concerns four people – Everybody, Somebody, Anybody and Nobody. There was an important job to be done and Everybody was sure that Somebody would do it. Anybody could have done it but in the end Nobody did it. Everybody got very angry over this because it really was Somebody’s job. Everybody thought Somebody would do it, but Nobody realised that Anybody wouldn’t do it It ended up that Everybody blamed Somebody when actually Nobody had asked Anybody.

Thank you! I can't wait to get it activated! Maybe two weeks... I ran another 8 cables yesterday, and have only 4 more, then it is on to power cabling.

Re: WTB carry case
Ditto. Good for carry-on. I have one for my K3 as well. Actually, Gary, VE1RGB (sk) had it made and I bought the K3 and bag from his estate.

True, would not use for checked luggage, just carry-on. John, didn’t explicitly say ‘check-in’,.

Joe Pugliano - AJ3O
John, If you can't find used, DX Engineering sells the Nanuk brand. Very similar to Pelican at a fraction of the price. I use one for my surveying data collector and it has protected it from some VERY embarrassing episodes out in the field. For the quality they are extremely reasonably priced compared to others. Many sizes and good padding. Just a suggestion. 73, Joe /AJ3O

I found a military case on eBay I am happy with It was about $30 plus shipping It is not quite as sturdy as a Pelikan case but close enough. It should survive most things the airlines would throw at it (pun intended) It fits the K3, P3, and a Scarlet Solo plus mic, cables, etc. I modified the foam liner of the case to fit the K3 and P3. The interior is still a work in progress. It has 4 clasps (one on each side and two on the front) It does not have tabs on each half for locking but a little creativity might fix that 23" x 21.5" x 6.5" (W x L x H) approximate exterior dimensions I will try to figure out the part # for the case Bryce K6TI

Re: Telex Aviation Headset Use w/K3

the mike might need bias and that can be provided by the k3. are the earphone stereo. also, there is an 8 pin adapter that splits off to the stereo plug for the mike with bias and another plug that connects to the remote PTT.
Hope this helps Mel NE9A
