Hi Paul,
I apologize for the support problem you are encountering This is really odd, as we are not backlogged multiple months on cs mails. We have had response delays of several weeks on occasion

Hi
Well I have tried and failed to get support from Elecraft or even a
meaningful reply to emails during the last seven months. Today my 90 year
old friend went out and brought an IC 7300. To quote

Re: Sound card for use with LP Pan and K3
I am using the U5. I have the U7 and the Beringer on the shelf as back ups. I tried the beringer and it had harmonic issues, so went back to the U5.
So far, happy with the U5

If it was me, I'd ask Larry. The Xonars are nice units, although, years ago, I'd heard about reliability issues, I think with the 7.

Jim, you and I have had this discussion several times, I prefer an antenna that does not need a ground counterpoise and a tuner for most bands, sorry. END.

Um, he said he was running a few feet of coax.
I don't see the need for coax unless it is used to insert a common mode choke, but I DO see the STRONG need for a counterpoise. That can be anything

I know they're not popular, but I recommend an external tuner located at the end of the wire. The only exception might be if the coax is short and the wire is NOT a multiple of a half

Re: K3 and end fed wire
How are you transitioning from the coax to the end fed?
If the antenna is connected directly to the jack on the K3 then the counterpoise would be necessity be connected to the chassis at some point.
