My KPA500 S/No 1278 decided it had enough of CQWW SSB this weekend and popped the tops off the PA transistors VRF2933 . First time ever I had used the amp at the UK full legal limit of 400W. Amp

Re: K3/0 direct connect to K3s within a Jeep (no Internet, no RemoteRIG). Is it feasible?
Hi Paul,
That should be feasible.
The only thing the Remoterig boxes do is conversion of signals, so they can be transported over the internet.
Without them you can connect all ports directly.

Re: K3 Receiver Noise Troubleshooting
Hi Rick,
This could be anything, but sounds like an almost broken capacitor.
You need to find out where in the receiver the noise is generated.
A good place to start is the IF output

K3/0 direct connect to K3s within a Jeep (no Internet, no RemoteRIG). Is it feasible?
I have been operating from within my Jeep and primarily from the passenger seat. I spent a lot of effort perfecting a KX3/PX3 system where two of these are mounted on my dash.

John.
I'm not sure if this has been asked before, I may have missed it.
Are you sure that you don't have the power set to "Per band"? I'm not sure if that would affect the readings you're getting, but

Thanks Mike, Mel, Ray and David for suggestions.
Volts over 13 in all cases. Tried 13.5 but this not the problem. ATU bypassed for tests. LPA output OK at 10w all bands.
Only removed ATU so far but

Have you redone the 5 and 50 watt calibration on each band? See manual.

I am not sure if you are aware that under 12W you are using a different board than when you run over 13 W

K3 Power Output Problem
I would appreciate some help fixing an unusual power anomoly on the K3 (2481) I am using. It gives the normal 100w output into a dummy load on HF bands but only 70watts maximum on 1.8 and 3.5MHz, and
