New synth board

Sorry I have been away from this post for sometime. I was reading that you can upgrade your k3 with a new synth board. What would be the advantages of doing this? Chris W7CTH

You can buy RG8X with the connectors on it from the various cable guys and also an adapter from BNC to UHF. I use all BNC in the shack and adapters where required.

Jim, I did some paperwork checking then verified by trying to use it, came up not installed. I never purchased the internal tuner :). It's not there so I don't have to think about taking it out.
