I'd be interested in these various options if they can go mobile somehow.
Eventually, I'll probably have to go trucking 48 states again. I've never used a freewheeling vfo mobile.

Yes, it is possible, and we're working on a special cable for this.

Bruce,
Did you get any response from Elecraft on this? If so what did they say?

Re: [Elecraft_K3] Editing CW Memories using the K3 Utility
Jim:
One other thought:
If you enter and save a CW memory, and then leave the CW memory editor and
then return again to the Editor by clicking "Edit CW Memories...", is the
CW message you entered

Re: [Elecraft_K3] Editing CW Memories using the K3 Utility
Jim,
Just as a quick test.. When entering text into the CW Memory text fields, try pressing the TAB key to move to the next field before clicking "Save". See if that makes any difference.

One possibility is that the Mx button has been assigned to a command macro function. There is a description of how to undo that in K3 util help on the command tester topic

Note that you do not have to use a serial cable for COM1. You can turn on the RRC's internal USB to serial converter under the serial settings (set "use USB COM port as COM1" to YES) and plug in

I agree 100%, Harry. After my current project (building a KX1, my second after a ten year hiatus) the SVGA option is next on my list. I just need to find a good place to site the SVGA monitor!

Re: [Elecraft_K3] Re: pan adapter
I chose the LP panadapter because it was more cost effective and works great. Another consideration was that it works with multiple software options and I could use it with a large computer monitor.

Yes the COM1 facility in the RRC works very well (to run either the KPAUtil or the KPA500 Remote) . A regular serial cable is needed between the local computer and COM1 on the Control RRC but a NULL

Re: pan adapter
No contest for me: I chose the P3 because it matches the K-Line station and does not require a computer to operate. Very simple - plug in the proper wires and you are up and running.
