Re: [Elecraft_K3] Assistance please in setting Config> CW Wght
First, I’m confused what you mean by “TUNE>CW mode for practice. You should have the K3 in TEST mode, then in CW you can key all day without generating RF. Maybe that’s what you meant.

Not quite.....using the USB cable gives you four different virtual serial ports. You can use COM1 as well as the virtual FSK port simultaneously with no problem.
Also don't confuse RTTY

I just wanted to point out that if you are planning to do RTTY (FSK) as described in the RRC1258 documentation, you must use the USB port on the front of the Control RRC. Hence the USB port isn’t

I'd be interested in these various options if they can go mobile somehow.
Eventually, I'll probably have to go trucking 48 states again. I've never used a freewheeling vfo mobile.

Re: [Elecraft_K3] Editing CW Memories using the K3 Utility
Jim:
One other thought:
If you enter and save a CW memory, and then leave the CW memory editor and
then return again to the Editor by clicking "Edit CW Memories...", is the
CW message you entered

Re: [Elecraft_K3] Editing CW Memories using the K3 Utility
Jim,
Just as a quick test.. When entering text into the CW Memory text fields, try pressing the TAB key to move to the next field before clicking "Save". See if that makes any difference.

One possibility is that the Mx button has been assigned to a command macro function. There is a description of how to undo that in K3 util help on the command tester topic

I agree 100%, Harry. After my current project (building a KX1, my second after a ten year hiatus) the SVGA option is next on my list. I just need to find a good place to site the SVGA monitor!
