I'm still using the Sony boombox speakers from Goodwill directly driven by K3 EXT SPKR amp. No wall warts!

Re: [Elecraft_K3] SignaLink USB interface & K3
Thanks to all for your info and suggestions. My SignaLink should arrive in a few days. I'll be trying it with MixW software and see how that goes. I'm disabled and will get a friend to plug it in this

Jim,
You do not need additional hardware as you can use two cables from radio to computer soundcard and work digital signals.

Re: [Elecraft_K3] SignaLink USB interface & K3
For me, and how I operate, the Signalink is necessary for three reasons:
1. The Signalink as a sound device is better quality than the old, noisy one in my PC.
2. I like the easy access to TX/RX

Re: [Elecraft_K3] SignaLink USB interface & K3
I've been thinking the same thing. Elecraft even sells the cables for this purpose.
I bought a set to see if I like working the digital modes, before I invest $100-200 in the SignaLink

Re: [Elecraft_K3] SignaLink USB interface & K3
I don't see the need for it. K3 is already buffered and with easy PTT and adjustable Lin IN and Lin OUT all I need is two stereo cables. Works great.
YMMV
