As already mentioned, "multiarch" needs to be enabled so that "i386"
packages may be installed. I have documented the steps here:

I just hit this issue with libgtk-x11 a couple days ago.  You have to install the i386 (32 bit) version of the library.   I don't know what tool mint uses, be it apt or yum or what, but on debian I had to do an: apt-get install libgtk.2.0:i386   (or similar).

Very likely you'll also need the 32 bit version of libstdc as well.

13.4 VDC is low.  Can you tweak it up to 14 VDC?
Avoid sources of loss in the lead by removing any in-line fuses.  Check all the connections.
The indicator has nothing to do with the coin cell which you might want to replace every 5 years.

I had this with my K3.  I found that I had somehow moved the voltage control on the power supply. Resetting to 13.8v the warning went away. Look in this area before anything else.

Nothing if you order from Digikey and pay with a check.  Free shipping and handling.  Check their terms of service.

Hi all,

I have used Mouser for all my ferrite choke needs for a very long time. I always use mix #31 and have never experienced them out of stock. I also buy my Amphenol coax connectors and adapters from them. I never use anything else than Amphenol. Alas I think I have enough of both to last me for the rest of my life (I am just 66 though) and I don't have that many new antenna projects. My current crop of tree-hung wire antennas (4 in all) have proved to be very durable and have made it through some incredible wind storms.

Re: Low Battery Prompt

Irwin Darack

Thanks,

When I  push the DISP function and scroll through the settings I get the following setting:
Time and Date - both are correct
0.00 - Not sure what this is measuring
13.4 Volts
1.33 A
PA=24c
FP=26c

After checking the manual, as it happened in transmit, my guess is that its telling me that the power supply voltage dropped too low.

You can check the voltage reaching your K3S by pushing DISP and finding it there.
I thought I had my power supply set at 14 V and checked if I had any voltage drop
between PS and K3. I had my power supply by mistake set at 12.5 V so I increased it to 14 V
which is OK for this radio. Have not seen that Battery Low promt since.

I use exclusively Tripp Lite products. (Cables/AC Isobar Distribution ). USB cables have Ferrite Chokes both ends.  Power strips have 4 exclusive isolated filter banks to limit noise. There is no noise ever in my radios. Little more money and worth every dime.

Arrow does have the 2.4" OD toroid in 43-mix available, delivered, for less than $6.

Get the Fair-Rite catalog (download off their site) and learn to use the mfgr numbers, not just the one that Amidon puts on Fair-Rite products...
