Call Elecraft they had to replace mine on 10858 (100 Watt PA) and solved the problem. I had the same issues as you as well. I changed out coaxes and everything I could think of before I called service. They called me back and said it was the 100 watt PA board and send it too them. ALL is well….

HI,
thats what I thought; however I would have figured they would be a bit more robust? Thanks. 2E0EFS.

If it is like mine was, it's a blown
FET, or so Elecraft said. That diagnosis was a little puzzling
since AFAIK it was making full power although I usually use the
KPA500, so maybe I didn't notice. Wes N7WS

It’s $30. He’d have it by now if he’d called Elecraft instead of here.

That's not a bug, it's a feature. And it's configurable in the P3's SVGA menu, something like 'Wfall Mkrs'... -- Jeff KC9WSJ <jeff@...>

Re: [Elecraft_K3] Setting PF1 to toggle power level
This might help you? Ages ago I set up the following macros using PF1 for working split and PF2 for setting up various power levels for driving a linear amplifier:

Greetings all, I would like to program PF1 to toggle the output power between say 30 and 100 watts. Cranking the power down for digital modes would be so much more convenient. Is there someone who has done this and if so would you mind sharing the setting process?

If I had the cable, I would pin it out for you...maybe someone on the forum has one and will draw a schematic. I looked for a drawing and couldn’t find one on line.

Re: K3 Noise Cancelling Headphones - Experience?

About 5 years ago, I researched on the web the comparative ambient noise reduction of then available headphones. Consensus was that Beats Studio beat Bose Quiet Comfort; both are over the ear style headphones. So, I bought Beats Studio with 3.5mm cabling, and some AAA batteries. I was disappointed in the 3.5mm to 1/4 inch adapter, and bought a different one. The pair of batteries are consumed in about 8 hours, and when they die, the headphones are dead. The active elements of the noise cancellation were susceptible to RF, particularly on 15m at my MO QTH. They are resting on the shelf in their attractive carry case. A couple of years ago, I bought Monoprice noise cancelling headphones on-line for about $105. No problems with RF susceptibility, they consume a single AAA in about a week, and they are far superior WRT Beats Studio noise suppression. They do work without batteries, but with the battery power on, there is some audio gain, and suddenly my alpha 87a is silenced. Bob R = N7WY
