John,

It is a safe bet that Wayne, Eric and all the wonderful people in the backroom of Elecraft are working on something new and wonderful.... That said with was less then 50 people working for the whole company and hundreds of K3S, P3, KPA500, KAT500, KX2, KX3, PX3, KXPA100, and all the other goodies going out each month, it will be a few years until the next generation is done... Besides, once they do have something the test and re-test the design and refine it, and that takes time also.

I have two used K3's, as well as K-Line and a KX2, KX3 and PX3, that these radio will not be outdated and will do more then you will ever expect... The best part is, once you buy the radio, you get a customer service department that really cares and will do pretty much whatever it takes to keep you happy.... So get the K3S and when you can get the P3...

Have fun

I can start one: totally SDR, a rival for the Icom 7300 and the Flex 6500.  Use SmaterSDR software.  ;-)

I find no Elecraft related info in the links.... BUT I did fine inspiration and hope while watching a father and his 4 y/o daughter sing together. That, of course, led to many other Claire Ryann vids. That is a very special time for little girls and their relationships with their dads. So very special.
Thank you for the links and the 'good vibs', now back to radio.

Let the group know what you find out.  I have a signal on 28.134 also.

Use either the Front End Saver sold by DXE or their Receiver Guard. I use both (on different rigs) and they work well!

Hi,

never had any issue using KD9SV Front-End saver even using sufficient
power. (how many is "sufficient", hi)

Dennis,

Yes I do have a remote access switch.  I would like to see your timer circuit.  You can email it to dsolberg@...

Thanks,

I had the same problem with HiZ array tripping K3 COR.  I used the DX Eng. RTR-1A to isolate the RX antenna during TX.  -Joe N3HEE

All true.  You should be able to overload the preamp, but not generate dangerous levels to the radio.

How are you sensing the RF feedback?

The HI-Z system has active antennas + a low noise amp. The highest signal is that generated by the low noise amp and it cannot destroy anything.

I am using a 3-el (6 directions) Hi_Z array for a few years with the elements in the radial field of 160/80m vertical while pumping all the power that 2k-fa power can deliver, with no problems.

If u have a remote access switch at the remote location, it is easy to make up a timer that will turn the K3 on remotely.  I have such a circuit if ur interested.

Hang in there....I should have a turnkey solution soon for this. A little add on, complete with integration into Win4k3 and other software.

New release of Win4K3Suite supporting the SDRPlay RSP2

tomb18@...

Hello,

There is a new release of Win4K3Suite.  Of note in this release is support for the new SDRPlay RSP2 in addition to the RSP1.  The SDRPlay can be used with the K3 and the IF output as a Panadapter and with a transmit / receive switch, can also be used with the KX3 and KX2 providing a Panadapter display with a maximum span of 2MHz at very low cost.

This release also has a new feature allowing Win4K3 to be used with hardware devices that only monitor Elecraft radios like antenna tuners, third party amps etc.  Traditionally, one would need to make a serial port "Y" cable so that the devices could listen for frequency and band information.  With Win4K3Suite all you need to do is plug your device into a free serial port on your system and then connect to it with Win4K3, telling it what information needs to be sent to the device. No need to fuss with cables.

Win4K3Suite is the ultimate Elecraft control prpogram supporting all hardware and seemless integeration with many third party software and hgardware products.

You can find out more about Win4K3Suite by watching these videos

Thanks you for your support!
