Besides, how many computers, new design, have you looked at in the
past few years?
I've had a new Toshiba with single jack that can be either mic or
*stereo* line depending on the "Microphone Properties" settings.

I've had my hands on my son's new Samsung that has *stereo* input
capabilities.

I regularly use a home built system based on an MSI motherboard that

All are new within the last 24 months and still current production.
The key is *always* properly setting the Properties - particularly
the "Advanced" settings - in Windows Sound Control Panel.

Nonsense! Most Line inputs are stereo if connected correctly and
they are configured for a Stereo "Default Format" in the Windows
Sound Control Panel.

Carl, Have you tried RX SHIFT to move the "IF" to 8 KHz in order
to get rid of the "0 Hz" artifact (K3 Owner's Manual, pg 38)?
SDR connection/configuration information is on age 26 of the
KX3 Owner's Manual.

I do not see images so the motherboard sound card I am using is
definitely stereo. If it wasn't, I would see mirror images on both
sides of the carrier. I suspect an adjustment is wrong inside my
kx3.

Thanks Joe. That's what I was looking for. That moved the LO signal 8 khz away and helps a lot. I'm sure my sound card is stereo because I don't have images in the spectrum display.

Joe,

I must have had a quite a few "nonsense" computer the last 10 yrs, because the LINE inputs were ALL Mono to match the mono mic input....Played hell with trying to get softrock radios working.. Besides, how many computers, new design, have you looked at in the past few years?  Even the MIC and Headphone jacks are now put into one hole and you need to buy a spitting cable to get then to work and your hard press to even see a LINE input. They are cutting everything out.  Even USB ports are being limited to 2 and 3.

Re: Rev Level Main PC Board

Sorry, Audio from the USB port from the PC.  I have been using the PC to control the radio, and PTT has been working but audio was not coming over with the PTT from the computer via the USB port.  I went ahead and changed out to the older version level board that Elecraft sent me and all is working now.

Regarding the filters, I purchased the 2.8 for 2.7 swap that they offer, and have the 400hz and FM filter to support the 2 meter option...
I am very pleased with this.

Audio from PC issues?  Not sure what that is, could you explain please....As far as the DSP board goes, I am running REV B in two K3's and never upgrade. I also am wondering what filters you are running... I have the stock 2.7 khz, which I find gives me a lot of noise. I have the 2.7 khz in one radio and hope to up date the other. I have 1.8 khz and for my hearing it sucks.  CW 400 hz.

So if you can give ma a better idea, maybe I or others here can help. This is a great group with lots of hands on experiences that they share often
