Hmm. The notch (manual or auto) is primarily designed do knock out heterodynes (i.e a single frequency). There may be restrictions in their design that might preclude the rejection of a wider band of frequencies. The designers would have to chime in. Have you tried to simply turn down the HI CUT to combat the problem? I often cut it down right to 2.1kHz with good effect. In my case that causes my 1.8kHz filter to cut in, but I doubt if if is makes much difference. AB2TC - Knut
