Diversity recepion using 2 FDM-SW2 units - possible?

Jim

Anyone know if it's possible to connect the clocks (and anything else that might be needed?) between 2 SW2's to allow true diversity reception? I think the software can handle multiple units. Any docs around that might help?

Thanks,
Jim

You'd be better off waiting for the Perseus22 IMO.

Simon,

Thanks for the info, but when companies anounce vaporware, really means nothing to me. Especially post-covid (sic)

1) I'm really not interested it waiting years to purchase something, my need is more immediate.
2) The specs. on that unit seem to be mediocre at best. 14 bit - really? USB2 - really?. My company's products have had USB3 in their embedded systems (released & in production) for over 5+ years.

Re: the '22, I don't understand why go through the added expense of adding a preselector in the front end and not have a 16-bit A/D, maybe someone can enlighten me?

I have 1 SW2 now (+SP08 preselector), I can get them used for < USD400, @ 16-bit no less. This would give me a nice cost-effective solution.

BTW, re: SDR-Console - Kudos, nice & thank you.

The excellent Elad FDM3 16 bit SDR at a higher cost may fit your needs better if available? Manufactures provide equipment to fit everyone’s budget.

I just received a ELAD FDM-S3 with add band pass filters and I am very happy with it. One of the things I like about it is I am able to see the whole FM band on the screen at one time. The problem is tying to get one. I bought the only one that was available in the world.

I have 2 RFSpace CloudSDRs receivers and I would consider selling one of them. I bought 2 of them , so I would have a spare. So my current situation is I have one- ELAD S-3, Two CloudSDRs and one Perseus.

Hello,

I only provide some information:
    - the Perseus22 has an USB 3 controller (the same as the S3) and the Perseus has an USB 2 controller,
    - the choice for the ADC (Quad-Channel, 14bit, 250MSPS, ADS4449) is the result of a compromise between needs, performances, price, and no less topical, availability.

Hi,
  1. Don't obsess about the number of bits, there's nothing wrong with 14-bit ADCs, it's the linearity and firmware/software that matters.
  2. Why use USB3 when not needed?
