I have several CB stations etc ... and I wanted to know if this Transceiver Elad has option roge beep
I am a person who respects the law and also the radio amateurs
I do not like to bother others
I only use and enjoy 11M band and the rest I listen to band

Also please no roger beep..it causes “ issues” on ham bands..

If using on 11 m,( nothing wrong with 11m!) then do as you like, but you will get grief if you use on ham bands..everyone will think your a cber without a license..you will get grief..
Plus if “ beep” too loud will “splatter”..that will not make you friends!

  1. I don’t know of any “roger beep” with the Elad Duo.
  2. You can match or Tye the transmitter function to any of the 4/8 virtual receivers, although with CW because of computer delays, I recommend that you work with the hardware rx/tx and use vrx1 for help in tuning the frequency.  Check with the FDM-SW two manual on the linking the TX to VRX? ..  It is only a mouse button push away.

  has roger beep function in ELAD FDM-DUO and FDM-SW2 ??

and the second question: in FDM-SW there are 4 virtual receivers RX1, RX2, RX3 AND RX4 and only RX1 can be used in TX

How can I activate RX2, RX3, RX4 to use in tx or only one receiver can I use in TX and all 3 only for listening?

Nice. My only concern would be that the new all metal knob is much heavier than the original so will put even more stress on the already very weak encoder shaft leading to even more wobble and failure. Maybe look at adding some bracing e.g. felt washer?
Is Elad out of the Amateur Radio business?

I read in the manual, considering Item #12:

1.3.1 Main Features
Reception frequency range: 9kHz to 54MHz in direct sampling mode.

It is obvious that one could lock the internal TCXO to external reference, but
I think about the possibility of using the Duo / evt wtih SW2 as either 10MHz clock or tx frequency measurement;

As the first citation says Clocking Source by 10MHz TXCO OR external reference input I wonder:

1.    Could the 10MHz connector also be used to deliver 10MHz TXCO-gen reference output with at 0.1ppm/1Hz@10MHz at some level?

2.    The 10MHz WWV calibration button in SW2, does it adjust the FDM-Duo or only the SW2 / display?

3.    Assumed that the FDM-Duo is calibrated to WWV 10MHz, what accuracy/stability could I expect on reception, say on 10MHz?

Menu option enables it everywhere, and isn't what I'm looking for neither quick.

In searching this group for a solution, Klaus, DK3QN, in his 7/22/18 post has a good firmware solution in changing the E2 pitch option to CW WPM. CW operators make more CW WPM changes than Pitch changes.

There is three other ways to change the CW keyer speed.

  1. Using the E1 Knob during transmit mode.  (instructions on bottom of page 21 in Duo Manual)
  2. Setting CAT functions on the Stand Alone Control (I.E. Set one of the buttons to [CW 17;MD3;CD2015017] – this would set the speed to 17 WPM)
  3. Use the slider for TX speed on the FDM-DUO TX control panel (Go to SET>ADVANCED>(check box Use Duo TX Control Panel>Apply>Close). Then Right click on desired VRX and set the panel for CW.  This gives you a slider for TX speed plus access to the 10 CW message you have saved.

Good Luck, let me know what you choose.  I use the CAT #2 for 15 and 17 WPM.

Hi Matt,
I may. I’ve one that is 18 mos old and hardly used. It suffers from that high swr error problem like most. The last firmware update was 6 mos ago; the new one is supposed to fix it. I work around it by bypassing the tuner. 
Otherwise mint condition.
