Re: FDM-DUO rear panel

As Tony has already written, the 0 dBm output has no band limits.

However, you need to set menu 33 (TXOUT) accordingly to make the 0 dBm port active.

Menu 31 is "number of antennas used".

Can I understand that a 0dBm transmission signal can always be taken from that SMA connector, even when the transceiver cannot transmit, for exemple when it is tuned out of a Ham Band?

Hi,

I use a Wellbrook Loop exactly for this purpose with my Duo. I can then switch between the two antennas via the SW.

Hi Pierre
Yes the 0dB output works on all frequencies and is modulated by whatever mode you have selected. Very useful for connecting a transverter.

FDM-S2 and Omnirig

AA3SS . . . Steve <aa3ssradio@...>

Is there any way to make the Elad software and omnirig track my external radio when I have more than one receiver open. For example when I switch to receiver 2 or 3 can it control the external radio and track the frequency

Re: 2 channel operation

Hello,

with you will have :
    - first channel at 192kHz on the SW2 and stand alone demodulation on the DUO,
    - second channel at 192KHz on the SW2 only.
-> Mixed operations.

with you will have :
    - first channel at 384kHz on the SW2 only,
    - second channel at 384KHz on the SW2 only.
-> Full remote operations. The stand alone demodulation of the DUO supports only 192kHz span.

NB : menu 10 FILTER BYPASS of the DUO could be important when using two channels, it allows to bypass the internal preselection filters of the DUO which state depends on the DUO tuning frequency (LO of the SW2 first channel).

[Edited Message Follows]

ive a few questions regarding this, as i have tried and tried to the best of my knowledge, but this is above me at the moment.

i am on the advanced config tab, i see 2 choices for 2 channel,

1. stand alone and 192,,mixed ops, use rig and software available on channel 2
2 remote and 300 odd, bigger view and software for 1 and 2

my understanding of this is, if i choose option  1.

i will have channel one operation on the rig Only, which meand all settings on the Duo rig are applicable, and no settings on the sw2 channel 1 software will be applicable ,,,,and channel 2 remote through sw2 software so mixed operations,,,,is this correct?

if i choose option 2

i will have full remote on channel 1 and 2 with a bigger rx bandwidth to view, and cannot work wsjtx on channel 2 while working ssb cw on channel 1,,,,as all will be using virtual serial and virtual audio.

can i work wsjtx on  channel 1,  while using ssb or cw on  channel 2, or will the tx from either disable the other channel temporarily, i think i can only work 1 tx at a time!,,but multiple receive

please remember although i have owned my duos for a good while i am very limited in sdr and pc applications,,,,,but i do want to learn,,,indefinately

can anyone help

if my thinking of the stand alone and remote are wrong,,,can u elighten me please as to what this means

regards

When I spoke with franco last week, he hoped to get mine to me this coming week and to a EU tester, sw2 is being updated with support and then production should be started within a few weeks, we had major changes to the Downconverter design, as performance above 800mhz was not to Franco’s standards, now all is good and it’s supposed to be performing great, I’ll let you know as soon as I get one, inc a video of installation

Re: Vb Virtual cable A and B

Hi, Peter Wa7MOX here.      I am not set up quite the same here but I can use FLDIGI and WSJT-X at the same time.  I am using WSJT-X as a stand alone on RX1 and VRX2 has FLDigi.  O am not using the VSPE, I have had better luck with COM(0)COM.  I am Using the VBCable (cable A, free Version) for the audio on VRRX2 FLdigi.

When using the WSJT=X as a stand alone, (Single RX) you do not need to run FDM-SW2.  But to get the additional receivers for other operations, I am running it.

Good Luck.

SW2 with the DUO. Nothing like that on my end.

In [ Search ] write " DUOr Knob " and you find a solution with details.
