Re: Manual T-Mate + FDM-S2 + SW2

Hello Uwe,

Thank you. This is an extended version of the users manual I received.

But there is still no description of the use of the knops and buttons.

I thought that the users interface would be equal to that of the
FDM-DUO, but that is not same. The effects of the buttons are
inconsistant, if they real do something. Only the tuning with the large
knop works as expected, and the so the E1 knop.

Best regards,

Where can I find a manual describing the functions of the knops and

What interfaces, Raimund?

Re: S2 not saving frequency on shutdown

I suggest some YouTube Video. There are for nearly anyone.
Interfaces that comunicate with the SW2 are also existing and tested.

It seems to be working fine as expected now but I honestly don’t remember which settings I changed as I poked around that could have affected.
I find the software very comprehensive. I do wish the documentation were more complete (better manual with glossary, mouse tips, etc) and some sort of “quick start” video tour of the more esoteric features for those of us less experienced SDR users.
Thanks

Re: ART-120 memories

Hi Vianney

Thanks.

I’ve probably used the wrong words. I have read (and used) 3.3. I’ve also read (and followed) the tune-up procedure (for use with the FDM-DUO) in Annex C. From this I understand that I can set up the ART-120 on several frequencies in a band for which the settings are then saved.

My question is therefore is there a limit to the number of settings that can be saved in a particular memory bank or the total number of settings which can be saved in all the memory banks? Currently I’m only using 3 memory banks, one for each of my 3 antennae. I have a multi band fan inverted Vee which covers 40, 20, 17, 15, 10 and 6m, so I’m using Memory Bank 0 for this antenna, but wondering if this will cause me problems long-term in view of the number of settings saved.

there aren't memories in the banks. There are a set of settings for each ham band, see section "3.3 Memory Bank Window" of the user manual.

FDM-DUO exits Remote mode (to come back to Stand-Alone mode) removing the USB RX cable.

A more pretty way is to choose the correct Device Configuration :

I found that the curious at the ELAD booth were primarily interested in the ART-120 remote control features, and questioned extensively how the software was installed and what additional connections were available to allow full remote control of a remote station. They wanted to know how to command antenna and rotor controls (many questioning how to command a SteppIr), how to see SWR results, etc.

Obviously here in U.S. the era of remote arrived. It is probably very important to improve the installation instructions asa few who were trying to get remote to work admitted to not being "...Linux programmers…" since Windows is the common baseline for software.
