A search of the archives found this:
"the radio can be opened up for Mars operators upon proof that you are an official mars operator, (Mars ID, email from Mars superior etc.) it is done in firmware with your registered callsign added into the firmware.

so I guess you should open a support ticket with some supporting evidence

Hi Arthur, there are different step sizes on my scroll wheel depending on where I operate the mouse wheel.

If I am on the lowest bar on the display, it steps 25kHz, on the next bar up, it steps 1kHz and on the top bar, or the waterfall, it steps 10Hz unelss I change that using trhe up/down arrows.

Settings are on SET->Tuning

Hi Arthur

Not sure if it is what you want, but the arrow keys normally change
the tuning step. The actual keys depend on the configuration selected
on the "Tuning" Setup page. I use Up/Down for step size, Left/Right
to tune.

I also have a Griffen PowerMate knob that tunes by turning and adjusts
the step size by press & turn (just sends arrow keystrokes really).

Cheers, Chris

I suggest you should set the DUO to full power, then set the slider in WSJT-X to provide the actual power you need.

I am using the 0dBm output into transverters and I set the level so I get the output power I want.

For HF using the internal amplifier, you can run at 100% in WSJT without any problems.  If you are using an external amplfier, I would just set the desired output level using the slider in WSJT-X.

Does anyone have better advice?

In theory, 100% on WSJT slider should give 100% on the DUO. You can check that by reducing the WSJT slider to -3dB or -6dB and checking the output power drops by half or 3/4

Had menu 54 correctly set.  Changed PTT method to RTS and that works, even when testing CAT and PTT from the Settings.  Thanks!

Forgot to ask: how do you determine correct audio drive volume as to not overdrive the FTM-DUO as there is no ALC reading.  My TX meter shows full scale at the moment on TX and power out is at 5W.

Are you using the dedicated FDM-DUO Hamlib facility?  The TS480 Hamlib functions have a serious timing bug.  Can you try using RTS for PTT instead of CAT, and change menu 54 to PTT+RTS?

WSJT-X version is 2.0.1 7ddcb7

I have it set up as follows:

Data Bits, Stop bits and Handshake are set to Default (have tried all combinations)

Howdy Arthur,

I'm not sure if you're wanting to totally disable the effect (don't know how to do that).

However, changing the effect is easy. First, it depends on where you are on the interface. Let's say you're anywhere in the large part of the display, or in the top frequency bar on the bottom. Change the step by going to SET (bottom left), and select the "Tuning Step" tab. The only way I know how to do it is to create one of the custom rows. I'm sure you could probably create one row with the entire frequency span. But consider instead learning how this works - you could set a row with a start of 14,000,000 Hz, and end at 14,060,000 Hz, and set the step at 1 Hz or something, maybe set the mode to CW. Then maybe add another row and start at 14,150,000 Hz, end at 14,350,000 Hz and set the step to maybe 20 Hz, maybe set to USB.

That will teach you how all that works, basically it's designed to give a bunch of options.

Note there is another setup tab called "Tuning" which then notice a way to change either the "Band Bar" or "Middle Bar". Experiment with that, so that when your mouse is hovering in the middle bar (down low), then that's where the middle bar setting takes effect, etc.

I hope that wasn't too confusing and if sorry if I missed the mark.

Yes, version 11.20...

I just went through all the rigamarole again with no success.  Always results in the autobaud error.  Is there any other way of getting this update installed.  I'm not able to use my new Duo-Art amp except through the generic interface.  I'm assuming that's because my UI is version 4.48 (?).

Thanks, Ed

Are you sure that you have the 11.20 version?

http://www.flashmagictool.com/download.html&d=11.20/FlashMagic.exe

I had the same problem and until I un-installed the 12.01 version and installed version 11.20 I could not get the 230400 baud rate.

Running on Win7Pro 64bit   FYI

Neil, Thanks. Worked like a charm.

But, DISASTER.

I followed the manuals step by step and upgraded the firmware first. Everything worked like clockwork EXCEPT when I turned the ART-120 back on after the firmware upgrade it never came back to life. It is DEAD!??

Flash magic completed every step successfully, so I assume the software and steps I followed were correct.

Disappointing but I now filed a trouble ticket. Heaven knows when that will be acted upon.
