I am handling the disposal of a friends (SK) radio equipment and one of the items is a black FDM-Duo I have the original box and the three A-B USB leads he used, I cannot find the original micro USB to female USB firmware updating lead but I have bought a replacement as well as a 8gb  micro USB+USB pen drive. These should arrive shortly. The condition of the duo is first class and I have checked it out on a dummy load sand it works fine.
Is anyone on the group interested before I put it on e-bay?.
I am hoping to get about £500 for it, All moneys going to cancer research.
Happy for any test at this qth.

Further to this... SDR Console will also allow you, subject to hardware/ resources, to run multiple SDRs, including multiple Elads, at the same time.

I have two S2s which run together fine.

You can use more than one FDM devices with the same user account without problem, using the same (and the only one) installation of the FDM-SW2 software.

 

I regularly run two FDM-DUOs, two FDM-S2 and one FDM-S1 on the same computer, at the same time, on the same Windows user account, with the single one installation of the FDM-SW2 software. I need 5 usb connection obviously.

Yes, you can run these parallel. I have three FDM-2:s and run the under Windows 10 side-by-side, covering a good part of the FM broadcast band.

 

I actually run them from one single directory/folder but start them via “Run As” under different user accounts.

Having found that the FDM-DUOr is a very good RX i have now purchased the  FDM-SW2 RX as well. I have found that you can run both receivers side by side. To my amazement both work in tandem. Just thought that various people might find this useful.

Also you can run both RX’s with the same software, the only thing you have to do is make sure both pieces of software are in different folders on your windows drive, I have one in the route directory and the other in program files. This is possible if you have a very fast spec computer because the cpu usage is very high. I use a IMac Pro 8th generation I7 with 16gb of memory and it works fine for me.

I for one is now thinking of buying the tx + Duo Art amp.

From your screenshot I noted two additional rates, namely 12,288 MHz and 24,576 MHz. As I can use about 5 MHz (yes, a bit more) alias-free and with full sensitivity with my FDM-S2: Will the maximum usable (!) bandwidth of FDM-S3 a bit over 20 MHz? And: Will there be a chance for synchronizing the oscillator externally (via GPS)?

If and when it gets to market, it will be a real success!

S3 Availability? Well I got mine finally to do some testing and to get ready to support it. Franco said this is the year of the S3, but no exact date yet, Software support is in place in the SW2 software, so it’s getting closer….nice part is if you have any other Elad Radio, it’s the same version of software for all the radios, I just set a new profile for different radio/layout

Just updated  with TX 01.35 and now no longer can send CW in SSB mode  = shows "wrong mode" on the Fdm-Duo display
also did the UI 04.87 right after the  TX update  ~ and the Duo-ART  to 01.34 too

System appears to function properly otherwise

if i download and run the ELAD_FDMSW2Setup.msi file in the "under test" folder
  how can i revert back to the last version if 3.023 is unstable for me?

Here the procedure to revert back to 3.019 from 3.023 :
- use the Windows Control Panel to remove version 3.023,
- I recommend to also manually delete the folder "ELAD FDM-SW2" under "C:\Program Files (x86)\ELAD" even if it isn't mandatory,
- reinstall version 3.019 using the Complete Install Package.

Note that it's good procedure to make a backup of the folder "FDM-SW2" under "C:\Users\<Your login name>\Documents\ELAD\" to have the possibility to revert back also the settings and not only the program files.

I am using 3.019 SW2 now, and its quite stable for me and i depend on SW2 as my primary receiver for DXing, but i would like to see the enhancements to the cluster interface.   

can you tell me if any of the numerous issues with the Cluster interface that i have fully documented in ELAD ticket #ELAD_000274 (nearly two years ago) have been addressed in v3.023 ??

Not yet, but fixing the issue related to CW Skimmer I took a look to how integrate the considerations you made in this ticket.

After using the Duo in an underperforming sort of way in the past, I broke down and bought the DUO ART at the recent Hamcation in Orlando. What I am trying to do is come up with a way to have a "push one button" approach that will:

1. For digital modes set the transmit and receive bandwidths,DUO power,  USB, etc.
2. For SSB set the bandwidths appropriate mode (USB at 20M and above, LSB at 40M and below.
3. For CW set the appropriate parameters.

Based on my read of the manuals, this forum and internet searches it seems programming the macro buttons on the FDM-DUO standalone panel might work.

However when I look at the macro.txt file I don't understand what the various line items really do nor how they correlate to the macro buttons on the on the standalone panel.

Is there a way to do this - if so any pointers to a primer on how to write the macros to do this would be appreciated.

Or if someone has solved this by some other method your input would be appreciated.

I have an Alpha-89. The ART-120 has a keyed relay. I chain the DUO to the ART, and then the ART to the Alpha.

Several others have an aRT-120 and use them with either n FDM-DUO or other QRP transceivers, nd there are several other linears in use.
