... thanks, to all of you at ELAD for many wonderful hours and even days in front of your excellent receivers and transceiver!

And just one question, to join Ron's one (and that of many others ...): Can anyone give us some information about if and when will the announced FDM-S3 be available?

What about the FDM-S3?

Ron Liekens

I think it is just short of a year now that the FDM-S3 was announced and presented on a Ham fair. Last summer I heard a rumour that there was a problem with some components.
I asked Franco via the Elad website last week as I want to buy one, but my message but there is nothing heard.

Any news???????

Re: FDM-SW2 window positions

John Freeman

Thanks everyone for the good info!  I was able to recover all my windows by using these tips, and will keep the thread for next time it happens.

One problem I had with the taskbar method - if Elad is not "powered on", the popup menus to maximize, resize, etc, do not appear on taskbar right-click.  So if you can't see the main window, you can't power on, so you can't use that method, (or the Setup/ Reset Window Position method. of course).  The Setup method works great to recover the IF and AF windows though.

By the way, the DemodFormLocations are in the FDMSW2RxSetup_SE0A53_0549.xml, not the FDMSW2SwSetup_SE0A53_0549.xml where the main and audio window positions are saved.  Thanks Neil!

Dead Duo-Art 120

Tony EI8JK

Hello group
I have a Duo-Art + Duo that was working perfectly. I updated the Art firmware a couple of weeks ago and that all worked flawlessly.
However I haven't used the combo for about a week and when I went to use it today the Art would not switch on.
I could hear a soft click coming from the Art when I applied mains power, and the neon in the on/off switch on the back illuminates, but pressing the front panel power switch does nothing.

Is there a "re-boot" switch somewhere inside the Art that may cure the problem?

The Duo is fine on it's own

Thanks, Tony, EI8JK.

Re: updating Elad Duo-Art 120 ?

Robert,

check to perform correctly section "2.1 Set LAN Settings" of the "Firmware and Software Update Manual" available here :
http://sdr.eladit.com/DUO-ART%20Amplifier%2060W%20and%20120W%20versions/ELAD%20DUO-ART%20-%20Firmware%20and%20Software%20Update%20EN%20-%20Rev%201.3.pdf

The DUO-ART LAN settings depend on your router settings, but a standard configuration is this one :
- IP : 192.168.1.XYZ with XYZ equal to 10 for example,
- Subnet : 255.255.255.0,
- Gateway : 192.168.1.1,
- DNS : 8.8.8.8.

Routers typically have default IP addresses equal to 192.168.0.1 or 192.168.1.1  or 192.168.2.1, but be careful, it can be different. You should check that and set IP and Gateway fields of the DUO-ART in function of your router IP address.

Re: FDM-SW2 window positions

Edward Porter

I have this problem when I move from one setup to another and I had not moved all the windows to the main screen.
You can reposition windows that are off screen as follows.
ALT & Space Bar
M (for move)
Use the arrows to move the window from the hidden position onto one of the active screens.

Re: FDM-SW2 window positions

Just for Elad,

this inconvenient could be easily avoided with your next 'update'

Dim form1Location As New Point()

'your result " -32000 " is corrected

If Form1Location.X < -30000 Or Form1Location.Y < -30000 Then
Form1Location.X = 0
Form1Location.Y = 0
End If

'the corrected Screen Position as Start-Position
Me.Location = New Point(Form1Location.X, Form1Location.Y)

Re: FDM-SW2 window positions

In fact, the positions of the windows are saved in pixels, regardless of the number of monitors that are used. So if the settings of the monitor(s) and/or the number of monitors are changed, this situation can happen.

To get out of this
frustrating situation, there is the possibility to reset the windows positions in two ways :
    - select the SW2 main window from the Windows taskbar and press Ctrl + Alt + R (it's described in the Help/Quick-Start window accessible from this button ; actually, it will be enriched in the next release),
    - go to the Settings (SET button), and in the Graphics tab press the button "Reset Windows Positions"; obviously, it can be done only if you have access to the SW2 main window.

Running FDM-SW2 3.019 on FDM-S2, using Windows 10 PC, having problems with window positions.

Problems started when I updated my dual monitor setup to a single large curved hi-res monitor.  FDM-SW2 started, but no window appeared on screen.   I worked through that somehow, I think by maximizing the window, closing and opening, perhaps reinstalling FDM-SW2.   However, the AF and IF windows were still missing.  (they all start, and appear as options in the task bar, but nothing happens when their thumbnail is clicked.

Recently I started connecting to my main PC from an alternate PC with 2 monitors, using RDC.   Worked fine, except have not got audio working properly yet, but somewhere along the way I lost the windows again!   This time I could not figure out how to get any of them back from the GUI.   Finally I found the location entries in FDMSW2SwSetup_SE0A53_0549.xml:   LocationXF0 and LocationYF0 for the main window, and AudioFormLocationXF0 and YF0.   One or both entries in both of these fields had large negative numbers.   I changed them to smaller positive numbers, and now the main and AF windows appear on screen!

A few remaining questions about all this:
1.  How do these values get screwed up in the first place?   -32000?   odd
2.  Is there a good way to fix them without editing the xml?
3.  When FDM-SW2 is running, it does not present any popup options from its taskbar icon to resize, move, or maximize the window(s) on right click, like most other programs do.  Why not?   Seems like this might have addressed #2 above?
4.  Where the heck is the IF window??   It is still missing!!   Where is it's location stored?   I could not find it in the xml's, but of course I have no idea what it might be called, maybe I missed it?   Or is it in some other file?

Thanks,
John

They are here:

http://sdr.eladit.com/DUO-ART%20Amplifier%2060W%20and%20120W%20versions/index.php?lang=EN

Do a long press on the View Button from the Main Window Screen.

If you have FW ver. 1.2, there is no need for a Upgrade with Flashmagic. Latest SW Version (UI) is 1.26.

The easiest way to update the UI is giving the Art access to the Internet. Connect it to your LAN. It will get a local IP via DHCP or you must set a IP via Instructions in the Manual. The ART will look for the latest UI and will give a Note in the first line off the Main Screen. Follow the Instructions in the Manual for performing the UI Update.

Re: RadioFrequency 1.7.1.3 update 24/Nov/2018 - On-Open issue Solved

To all RadioFrequency user.
-------------------------------------

RFR is terminated. On my WEB-Site near the Download Link there is a update DATE. This updates are concerning only small enhancements
without specific description. (05/DEC/2018)
It is sufficient to extract only 3 Files from the zip-file.

- RadioFrequency.exe
- RadioFrequency.pdb
- Help_Connection.txt

copy this 3 files into your actual Directory without saving previously your Data-Files, dBase ecc...

The only thing that should be added in the near future is the SW2/DUO TCP Device Configuration.
You can see the image after the Download Links.
Hope ELAD will add with TCP the possibility to change the Device Configuration on the fly. This is meaning that RFR can do it just with
one stroke. This feature would increase a lot the SW2/DUO use and answer several questions.

I would like to remember that the most stable connection to the Icom Radios and SW2 together is the use of OMNIRig + TCP SW2/connection.
Omnirig is not reading the S-Meter but TCP does.
RFR is already reading the SW2 Device Configuration data.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I would like to add a second Radio connection choice. RFR is using/connecting the Icom-Radios.
I'm asking you, which Radio is the most used by OM's ? Kenwood ?, Yaesu ? or else.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Any reply would be appreciated.
