Re: FDM-SW2 Update

Otso, you are correct. I have found that the screen “drifts” over time. It’s probably a Windows issue but sometimes I do need to adjust the position of SW2 so that the original mouse-auto-click settings work. But it is so much easier to press F-keys than constantly clicking with a mouse. If anyone needs help setting it up just ask.
You do bring up a good point and something that I wish ELAD might be able to help with. I too will often A-B loop a top-of-hour or short section of a playback file and then want to review every frequency. For a 24MHz FM capture the loop feature is a huge help. But if the loop starts at the end of file_000.wav and ends during file_001.wav the A-B loop doesn’t help and it’s very frustrating. What would be very useful is either a way to manually combine 2 wav files so that A-B could be used on the new combined file (the file change would be in the middle instead of at the end of file_000.wav) or if A-B could be made to loop across 2 files.
Thanks, Bill

Thanks for the suggestion, Bill. I tried Mouse-Auto-Click a few years ago but I did not find it very convenient for some reason. It seems to have ”disappeared” from my computer now. I suppose one of the challenges with this approach really is the difficulty to ensure Windows stay exactly at their place.
I do not think it would be very difficult to make the in-built SW2 (minimum) jump length to be configurable.
My 24 MHz files are about 10 min and 1.5 MHz MW captures about 40 min. I do not like a huge number of separate IQ files and even if the file-to-file transition is very smooth in SW2, at least once I have been unlucky and lost an ID just at the transition point. Therefore, I want to minimize the number of file transitions.

Otso,
I use free software called “Mouse Auto-Click” that will click anywhere on the SW2 GUI to skip ahead and back during playback. I programmed F5 through F11 to skip ahead in 10 second steps (assuming 1 minute 24MHz S3 captures). As long as you have SW2 in the same screen position every time it works really well. Give it a try and if you’d like details on how to set it up let me know. https://www.murgee.com/auto-mouse-click/

Hi Vianney,
I have done some testing already:
Thank you for your continued work on this great piece of software! BR, Otso
I have lot of memory entries, mostly MW offsets as well as ”watchlist for AM and FM:
