Just got mine in the Pacific NW. Lots of good info in this, several things I didn't know.
Thanks again!

Got my Newsletter in the mail yesterday. I'm just blown away by the quality and detail. There are even some photos I've never seen before!
Thanks to the whole team for such a great job in putting this together.

I do have a few copies of the RRs of JC book still in stock (second printing). They are $30 each plus actual shipping cost.
Contact me at johnnyg@... and we can set up an order.

Lee, that's very kind of you to say.

Thanks to you and to ALL the members for sticking with us for all these years. Volunteer organizations just work harder.  :)

Speaking of money by the way, I'm working towards getting PayPal up and running for members (and potential members) to pay their dues from our website.

Or maybe it's just ME who hates to write checks!  :)

Y'all have a good week!

Chris

Anyone not a member and a ET fan, being a member gets you some good info, I have found. If times ever get tough and I decide which memberships I have to bail from, I can assure you that the ET group would be the last one!

I'd forgotten about Johnny's JC book and looked it up. Is there a way to order it, because the website doesn't actually have ordering within it: http://www.tarheelpress.com/JCRR.html
Or could I get a copy direct (and signed) from author? I'm asking this publicly as I doubt I'm the only one who'd wanna know this...

Re: Along the ETWNC Volume 6

Like many of you, I have them all (volume 1 was the last one I needed, ironically bought that at Tweetsie RR's gift shop in the depot before that burned down). I think I read somewhere that more volumes are planned. Can't wait to get those as well!
When I ditched all my G scale stuff and decided I'd never build my dream ET layout (which changed when Bachmann came out with On30 soon after), I seriously considered selling these books off, but I couldn't bring myself to do so. I'm so glad I decided to keep them as they came in very handy when I was planning and researching the details for my layout!

October 2020 Historical Society Newsletter

Chris Ford

Hi all,

The October 2020 Historical Society newsletter is in the mail. Not the check, the newsletter.  :)

A great big "Thank You"  to Curtis Brookshire, our newsletter editor VP, for his work in gathering and writing the newsletter, and to Patricia Jennings, our Treasurer, for tirelessly getting these printed, folded, stuffed, labeled and mailed in a timely manner.

Those of you who are members, please remember to pay your dues (if you haven't already) to help keep the memory of this glorious little narrow gauge railroad alive in the hearts and minds of folks in the ET area and all across the country.

This newsletter will be posted to our Society website at a later date after members have received their printed copies.

For those of you who are not yet members, we invite you to join us in our endeavor! A membership form is available on our website (etwncrrhs.org). You know you've been wanting to join for a long time now...go ahead and do it...now's the perfect time! And thank you!

We are still exploring chances for in-person get-togethers, but everything is still up in the air at the moment and for the foreseeable future. We'll keep you all up-to-date. Remember that ideas are always welcomed!

Thanks for all that our members and our volunteers do, and to all who continue to express an interest in the history of the ET&WNC Railroad!

Thank you!

Sorry Vol 6 is not the Johnson City book.  Vol 6 is the passenger car book.  No more of them in stock for a good while now.

Last Call on ET signs

Chris Jessee

Last call for the remaining ET&WNC trucking company signs, #12 engine number and builders plate replicas.
These laser cut birch plywood signs will make a handsome addition to your ET collection. There are only a few remaining and once they're gone no more will be made.
See my website to order https://cbsafari.com/search?q=et

That 1916 brochure, what the heck is in one of these? I've only ever seen a black and white scene of the corner before this one escaped me on eBay...

Two or more people wanted it. Plain and simple. I have a huge folder of images that I did not win on Ebay. A huge folder of things I will never be able to share with ET fans in the magazine.
