There are some nice bed and breakfasts in Blowing Rock, about 10 miles
from Boone. It's probably a neater place to stay than Boone. A VERY nice
b&b is The Mast Farm Inn on the road to Valle Crusis.

Today, trailers are sometimes moved with a wrecker (tow truck) rather
than by using the fifth wheel. Could that have been the secret?

found out anything. As John Waite said, the photos don't exsist. Boy, I wish

I have never seen any photos of it. Would bet there was some sort of
portable metal ramp with two tracks.

Only the materials that John waite has already printed in a stemwinder not
so very long ago. check with him. To my knowledge not photos of the
unloading facilities exist.
