WAS: [ETWNC] Cranberry Depot by CCK NOW O scale Models
Bill Miller
John Waite modeled the ET&WNC in Sn3. John is no longer with us. There are four others who I know of or I have met. A short run of Boone Depot kits in S scale was done by Chris Jesse. To date no O scale kits other than the Deerfield Laser kits to retro fit the Bachmann On30 cars. and a custom run of Hopper cars by another company. Western-Rails.com who 3-D prints body's for ET&WNC rolling stock in Nn3 and HOn3 is limited at this point to what will fit on a 7x7x7 print table. That could change by this summer with the purchase of a printer that can handle larger models. Under stand that an O scale car is longer , wider and taller using much more material and time on the printer than a HO scale size model and will cost 2 1/2 times or more as much.

Western Rails makes some excellent stuff, things I would for sure buy, but very little of it in O. I can't think of a single ET&WNC structure kit made in O scale, either. Heck, if someone did a Bemberg depot kit in O, even though I have no room for one (and my layout theme wouldn't allow for it), I'd have to buy and build it just because!

Re: Now: Modeling in Sn3
Tuhr
I believe John Waite and I were the only two actively modeling the ET&WNC in Sn3....we were able to convince a few manufactures to make limited run items in addition to the excellent Railmaster loco kits. BTS did the thru covered bridge and we had a custom
run of hoppers done in resin. Most everything else we needed/wanted except the ten wheelers is available by modifying items already on the market.
My modeling is currently on hold as have moved to Sydney Australia for the next couple of years. (New job and adventure). Upon our return I hope to restart my efforts.
Take care all.

Tuhr Barnes is/was modeling Tweetsie in Sn3. Had a layout under construction using foam for most of the structure. There are Sn3 loco kits that are useful for Tweetsie.

Today with all the "printed paper" modeling, structures are just a drawing and inkjet printer away.

Trucks for Tweetsie freight cars are available and Grandt parts are returning to the market. Dr Tom's On30 Tweetsie shelf layout inspired by Iain Rice shows what can be done in a modest sized spare room as is a certain Tweetsie layout in the state of Washington. "Just do it" applies here I think.

Bill: It is a "Catch 22" situation. Modelers are reluctant to model a prototype that has little to no support from the kit manufacturer's, regardless of scale, and the manufacturer's are reluctant to design/produce kits and parts for prototypes that no modelers are modeling. Mark Lewis

Re: WAS: Cranberry Depot by CCK now COACHES
Bill Miller
At the present, the end handrails will have to be made up of Details Associates (229-2504) 0.012 wire. David is/was working on a wire bending jig.
Truss Rods and turnbuckles can also be made from the 0.012 wire and Tichy Train group turnbuckles, you will need a #77 drill bit to core the turnbuckles for the 0.012 wire. Finding Grandt Line HOn3 coach seats may be a problem with the closing and sale of Grandt Line to San Juan. Most of the other details are part of the PRINT. Painting the inside of the car is all about your painting skills. (See attached picture) Tru-Color Pullman green for the car body. 709-54. As I have not received the first production model yet, I am not sure of any other items that will be required to finish the models .https://western-rails.com/

The current release of cars are specifically modeled after the ET&WNC cars. We are working on a future release that will be modeled after the earlier EBT cars. They have several differences, the largest being smaller windows on the EBT cars.
The ET&WNC cars are now available at western-rails.com
