Yesterday the bar-tailed godwit continued in Emeryville at the Powell Street roost at high tide.
Additionally, about 8 red crossbills were sighted at a lone pine tree on Powell just east of the big brown Trader Vic’s sign on the north side of Powell. They then flew to the western terminus of Powell and were seen both cone busting and drinking from a puddle. At eye level. Red adult males, green and red immature males, green adult (presumed) females. They seem to be Type 2. There is a recording (and photos) posted to EBird.
A bit of surf and turf here in the East Bay.
