late Tuesday Heather Farm Park Walnut Creek

Just came back from the park and it is definitely waterfowl weather.  More than 20 Ring-necked Ducks, 3 male and 2 female Green-winged Teal, 2 female Common Goldeneyes, 5 male and 2-3 female Buffleheads, all on the large, mostly natural pond.  On the north ball field with the expected Canada Geese was one Cackling Goose.  Some of the Canadas were heading north, possibly toward Central Sanitary or McNabney Marsh?  A Red-shouldered Hawk was near the chin-up bars and one Common Gallinule was hiding along the edge of the west side of the pond.  A Hermit Thrush was chucking inside the trees across from the chin-up bars.
