Decent photos, as well as indecent shots of the Pectoral Sandpiper and companions, at https://ebird.org/checklist/S74465910

Why isn’t that a Common Rosefinch?

A couple of points. The Blue Grosbeak is a House Finch unfortunately. The blue is actually the grayish at the base of the feathers, they are disheveled there and that is why it shows up on the rump. The bill has a nice rounded culmen and plumage is typical of a House Finch. You can eliminate the Common Rosefinch by the length of the tail, as rosefinch is a relatively short-tailed finch and House Finch is a long tailed finch.
Another point, the dowitcher is a snipe, which is cool! Love seeing snipe out in the open like this.
Take care,
Alvaro
