Finally! Got good looks today 1/3 after my glimpse on Dec. 14. My 10th attempt today. It flew into the oaks before the benches in Claremont Canyon RP. at 12:15 and stayed 15 min before flying uphill

At 10:50 this morning, I found and photographed the continuing Summer Tanager at Claremont Canyon Regional Preserve. It was in the oaks about 10 yards down the trail from the bench at the first view

Today we spent several hours birding at Contra Loma R. P.. It was a beautiful post-Christmas day with vistas of the snow-covered Sierra in the far distance. Near Loma Island we spotted a House Wren.
