Ferry Point Pigeon Guillemot and Common Murre

Today Friday, June 24, 2016, at about 2:40 p.m. there was one Pigeon Guillemot swimming out in open water to the North of the Ferry Point Pier at Miller Knox Regional Shoreline Park (Richmond). Easily seen with binoculars as you look toward the Richmond San Rafael Bridge. From the railroad tracks running along the bay and nearer to Keller Beach/The Tunnel, there was one Common Murre bobbing quite near to shore. In the lagoon there were three American White Pelicans, and flying over the meadow next to the lagoon in with a couple of Barn Swallows there appeared to be several Northern Rough-winged Swallows. Other birds included one Red-breasted Nuthatch foraging at the north end of the Miller Knox park.
