Coyote Hills in the rain

Matthew Dodder

Folks,

A group of 7 dedicated birders from my Palo Alto adult school birding class showed up yesterday to bird in the wind and rain. We ended up cutting the trip short, but managed to find 62+ species despite difficult conditions. A squad of WILD TURKEYS moved through the meadow near the entrance kiosk, Perhaps the nicest encounter was across the marsh where we saw scores of TREE SWALLOWS near the nest boxes, a small number off BARN SWALLOWS and NORTHERN ROUGH-WINGED SWALLOW.
