Hayward Shoreline (9/23)

I spent about an hour this morning birding the area around the parking lot and Park Office of the West Winton portion of Hayward Regional Shoreline. Highlights for me included:
Western Tanager (2)
Black-headed Grosbeak (1 female)
Black-throated Gray Warbler (1 female-plumaged bird)
Fox Sparrow (1 "sooty" type, FOF for me)
White-crowned Sparrow (5 Gambel's, first real "flock" I've seen this fall).
I believe I heard the buzzy call notes of the continuing House Wren, but didn't see it or hear it sing.
