Alerted by "yank-yank" at 9am, looked up and spotted him perched on telephone wire in front of 1124 Talbot Ave (near Berkeley border).  He flew off into the backyard sequoia, then returned to get his photo taken.  Sorry for the delay in posting.  Have not seen or heard this species in our neighborhood ever in the 30 years we've lived next door.  Mike Hall
